When his journalist friend suddenly disappears in Benares, India, Mircéa goes looking for him. What he will find is beyond belief...
His investigation leads him to the heart of a hallucinatory world where terrible and evil creatures reign, the Vampires... These are organized into castes and sub-castes, and an entire aristocracy gravitates around an all-powerful sovereign. Vampire history dates back to the dawn of time. Mircéa will discover that vampires group into clans and hives and that they engage in endless fratricidal wars. But the worst is that he also discovers that they are the ones responsible for the calamities that have always struck humanity.
At the end of a real descent into hell, horrified by this terrible revelation, will Mircea be able to both save his skin and fight these demonic beings?
